About Miss Billie's Kids Kampus

Miss Billie's Kids Kampus is a private preschool and summer camp located in downtown Salt Lake City, established in 1985. Our mission is to provide a nurturing and educational environment for young children, fostering their social, emotional, and cognitive development. We are committed to offering a comprehensive early childhood program that promotes creativity, curiosity, and a love for learning. Our experienced and dedicated staff create a supportive and engaging atmosphere where every child can thrive 

Our Story

Miss Billie’s Kids Kampus began with Billie and Ike Koleman, one beutiful house, and a deep love for children.

In the 1970s, “Miss Billie” (Billie Koleman) began caring for children in the Park City.

What started as a simple childcare program quickly became something much more a place where children were known by name, families felt at home, and learning grew naturally through play, curiosity, and connection.

Throughout the 1980s and into the mid-1990s, Miss Billie’s Kids Kampus became a beloved part of the community. Many families remember the small blue house along Highway 224, where generations of children learned, laughed, and formed early friendships that stayed with them long after they left.

As the area changed and grew, so did the legacy of Miss Billie’s Kids Kampus. The original location eventually closed, but its impact did not fade. In 2012, the land where the program once stood was permanently protected and named Miss Billie’s Open Space, honoring the lasting influence Miss Billie and her daycare had on the community.

Today, Miss Billie’s Kids Kampus continues that legacy in Salt Lake City. Our school is now located in the heart of downtown, where we serve families from across the Salt Lake Valley. While our setting has changed, our philosophy has not.

We remain deeply committed to creating a warm, welcoming environment where children feel safe, supported, and truly seen. The values Miss Billie built decades ago trust, kindness, and a love of learning continue to guide everything we do.
